Copyright Policy

Overview

Juris Spectrum: International Journal of Law respects and protects the intellectual property rights of authors while ensuring the lawful dissemination of scholarly work. The journal follows an open access publishing model and maintains a clear, transparent copyright framework consistent with international academic publishing standards.

Copyright Ownership

Authors publishing in Juris Spectrum retain the copyright to their original work. Submission and acceptance of a manuscript do not transfer ownership of copyright to the journal.

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:

  • The work is original and has not been previously published, and
  • They hold the necessary rights to grant publication permissions to the journal.

License to Publish

Upon acceptance for publication, authors grant Juris Spectrum a non-exclusive license to:

  • Publish, reproduce, and distribute the article in electronic and other formats
  • Make the article freely accessible through the journal’s website and associated platforms
  • Archive and preserve the article for long-term scholarly access

This license allows the journal to disseminate the work while the author retains full ownership.

Open Access and Author Rights

As an open access journal, Juris Spectrum permits readers to access, read, download, and share published articles for non-commercial academic purposes, provided that proper attribution is given to the author(s) and the journal.

Authors retain the right to:

  • Share their published work on personal or institutional repositories
  • Use their work for teaching, research, and academic presentations
  • Include the work in future publications, subject to proper acknowledgment of first publication in the journal

Use of Third-Party Content

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use any third-party copyrighted material included in their manuscripts, such as images, tables, figures, or extensive quotations.

Proper acknowledgment and documentation of permissions must be provided where applicable.

Copyright Declaration and Author Agreement

As part of the publication process, authors are required to submit a Copyright Declaration and Author Agreement, confirming:

  • Originality of the work
  • Compliance with copyright laws
  • Grant of publication rights to the journal

Failure to submit the required declaration may result in delay or refusal of publication.

Infringement and Dispute Resolution

In cases of alleged copyright infringement, the journal reserves the right to investigate the matter and take appropriate action, which may include withdrawal or retraction of the article.

Disputes are addressed in accordance with applicable legal and ethical standards to protect the rights of all parties involved.

Policy Review and Updates

Juris Spectrum periodically reviews and updates its copyright policy to reflect changes in legal frameworks and best practices in scholarly publishing.
