Overview of the Editorial Process
Juris Spectrum: International Journal of Law follows a transparent, structured, and academically rigorous editorial workflow designed to ensure fairness, integrity, and scholarly excellence at every stage of publication. The journal adheres to international best practices in academic publishing and operates under a strict double-blind peer review model.
The editorial and publication process is overseen by an independent editorial leadership committed to maintaining high ethical standards, editorial independence, and academic quality.
Submission of Manuscripts
Authors are required to submit their manuscripts in accordance with the journal’s Author Guidelines and Submission Policy. Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal or publication.
Upon submission:
- Manuscripts are received through the journal’s designated submission system.
- An initial acknowledgement is issued to the author.
- Submitted files are checked for completeness and compliance with basic formatting requirements.
Initial Editorial Screening
All submissions undergo an initial screening conducted by the Editorial Office or the Editor-in-Chief to assess:
- Relevance to the journal’s aims and scope
- Academic merit and originality
- Compliance with ethical standards
- Adherence to submission guidelines
Manuscripts that fail to meet these preliminary criteria may be desk-rejected without external peer review. Authors are informed accordingly.
Plagiarism and Ethical Compliance Check
Before proceeding to peer review, manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism screening using appropriate plagiarism detection tools.
The journal ensures:
- Originality of content
- Proper citation and attribution
- Absence of unethical research practices
Manuscripts found to violate plagiarism or ethical norms are rejected, and the authors are notified with reasons.
Double-Blind Peer Review Process
Juris Spectrum follows a double-blind peer review system, in which:
- The identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential
- Reviewers are selected based on subject-matter expertise
- Conflicts of interest are strictly avoided
Each manuscript is normally reviewed by two independent reviewers who evaluate it on:
- Originality and contribution to legal scholarship
- Analytical depth and methodological rigor
- Clarity of argument and structure
- Relevance and accuracy of references
Review Outcomes and Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers’ reports, one of the following decisions is made:
- Accept without revision
- Accept with minor revisions
- Revise and resubmit (major revisions)
- Reject
The final decision rests solely with the Editor-in-Chief and is communicated to the author along with anonymized reviewer comments.
Revision and Resubmission
Authors required to revise their manuscripts must submit:
- A revised version of the manuscript
- A response to reviewers’ comments
Revised submissions may be re-evaluated by the original reviewers or assessed by the editorial team, depending on the extent of revisions.
Final Acceptance and Copyediting
Once a manuscript is accepted:
- It undergoes copyediting for language, style, and formatting
- References and citations are verified
- Authors may be asked to approve final proofs
The journal ensures consistency with its publication standards prior to final publication.
Publication and Access
Accepted articles are published online as part of the relevant issue of the journal. Juris Spectrum operates as a fully open access journal, ensuring free and unrestricted access to published content for readers worldwide.
Editorial Independence and Transparency
All editorial decisions are made independently and are based exclusively on academic merit. The journal maintains transparency, confidentiality, and integrity throughout the editorial and publication process, in line with international publishing ethics.
